Cellar Exhibition Hall

It is situated in the oldest (medieval) part of the house.

It houses a permanent exhibition on plaster nativity scenes called “The Beauty in Contempt”. The plaster nativity scenes suffer from the unappreciated material used for their construction. We present nativity scenes whose artistic value surpasses the material from which they were made.

The mysterious figure of the White Lady, whose somewhat morbid story relates to the history of Karlštejn Castle (see the Blog section), particularly captures the attention of children and can be found in the deepest part of the cellar.
